The Challenge

For this project, the brief was simple. To complete a full migration from Visualsoft to Shopify and to freshen up and modernise the front-end UI and tech stack whilst keeping all data in place such as customer data, their order history, search engine rankings and content within a 4 month deadline.

The Solution

StackUp Digital has developed an in-house blue print on how we perform migrations from Visualsoft to Shopify and it has worked every single time. Diving Direct is the 8th Visualsoft migration we have completed over the last 3 years, we have been through the pain points and have worked through iterated solutions and now have so much confidence in getting these migrations done fast and efficiently.

So, what did we do with this particular project and how?

• Previous Knowledge and Experience - In 2023 we carried out 4 Visualsoft to Shopify Migrations. We have been there, done it and have the processes in place to continue with additional store migrations in 2024.
• Pre-Built Communication Templates - When it comes to doing migrations there is a process we follow whereby we communicate with Visualsoft and their support team to enable us to get the data exports we need in the specific formats we require. We hold pre-built email templates to make this communication process fast, efficient and right the first time around.
• Data Migration - Our latest migration from Visualsoft to Shopify consisted of Order, Customer and Product Data. We plan this process meticulously as this process needs to follow a specific order of action for it to work.
• rk successfully. The most recent migration consisted of over 200,000 records that we formatted and made ready for Shopify-specific importing.
• Legacy Positioning & Link Backs - Once all content is populated and in place we will ensure that all website URLs and links from the Visualsoft store match and forward correctly to the new Shopify store. Shopify utilise very different URL structures so this is a check that happens before we push the site to production.
• Front End Migration - We have an in-house team who lifts and shifts the website front end and drops it onto a more modern, up-to-date Shopify front end. We used cutting-edge tech stacks to enhance the performance and accessibility of the website.
